The groundbreaking ceremony for the Guangzhou headquarters project of the Guangdong New Energy Circular Economy Zero-Carbon Smart Industrial Park was held in Huadu District, Guangzhou, on the 21st. The project is expected to commence production before June 2027 and is anticipated to supply no less than 40% of recycled materials for power batteries in the Greater Bay Area. This project, invested in and constructed by Zhongheng Zhilian (Guangzhou) Energy Development Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by Zhonghengyuan Group and Huadu Automobile City Development Co., Ltd., is a key construction project in Guangdong Province for 2025 and a crucial initiative to strengthen and supplement the new energy industry chain in Guangdong Province. According to reports, the project covers a net land area of 60 mu (approximately 40,000 m²) and has a total construction area of 131,000 m². The first phase of the project has a total investment of 750 million yuan. It will be planned, designed, and constructed according to national standards for zero-carbon parks and green factories, and will include a new 2 GWh new-type energy storage smart manufacturing center, a comprehensive utilization center for 60,000 mt of retired power batteries from NEVs annually, a recycling and utilization center for 20,000 mt of retired solar panels annually, a carbon neutrality research institute, a scientific research center, and an academician workstation.
